Showcase Thank you
Thank you to those of you that stopped by to visit us and our Showcase of Remodeled Homes project this past weekend. We had beautiful weather and are grateful that you took the time to spend some of the day inside with us. We and the homeowners were excited to have been able to share the project with you and hope you enjoyed seeing what we did to enhance their condo. 2011 Showcase of Remodeled Homes
Showcase of Remodeled Homes is this weekend. Fri, June 10th from 1-9pm and Sat, June 11th from 1-9pm.
Our showcase address is: 4850 Mapleshade Ct NE, Rockford. We are house letter B on the parade lineup.
Our clients' love of glass began while working in the glass industry with his Dad. Vacationing in Europe and the love of Frank Lloyd Wright light screens inspired our clients to add this feature to their home. Three different spaces have been enhanced with Frank Lloyd Wright, Prairie and Eucalyptus art glass. A remodel that adds flair and durability to the homeowners' lifestyle, you dare not miss it!

Playhouse being donated to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital
We are constructing a playhouse to be donated to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The playhouse will be used as our entry in the Annual Rockford Santa Parade on Dec 4th at 11:00AM. It will then be on display for the Fashion Show Benefiting the DeVos Children's Hospital at the BOB on December 14th. Check out our Gallery for pictures of the playhouse as it's being built/finished.

Morris Builders is proud to be a collection point for gift card donations. Collected cards will be used to help families wth teenagers and help those struggling this holiday season. Choose any store for your gift card purchase - restaurants, coffee houses, grocery stores, sub shops, movie theaters, sports stores, entertainment venues, music download sites - or other treats.
If you would like to contribute, please mail or drop off gift cards to our office (7221 Davies Dr NE, Rockford MI 49341-8550). Otherwise, feel free to give the cards to us when you see us out and about town, or during the Rockford Santa Parade.
We will deliver all gift cards to NKCS on Monday, Dec 6th.

2009 Community Repair Day
Morris Builders, Inc. once again participated in the Home Repair Services Community Repair Day. A ramp for a homeowner in Sparta was our project this year. What a beautiful day we had for building!

Morris Builders, Inc. recently was named a Silver winner in the 2009 Best of 50+ Housing Awards. Presented by the National Association of Home Builders' 50+ Housing Council, the Best of the 50+ Housing Awards is the premier design and marketing competition for the seniors housing industry. The project was recognized by an elite panel of judges that included builders, developers, architects, marketing experts and other respected industry professionals. The panel chose finalists from nearly 200 total entries in more than 40 categories.

Santa Claus Parade 2008

March of Dimes, Star Chef Auction
On November 10th Morris Builders once again participated in the March of Dimes Star Chef Auction. We've been promoting and contributing to this cause for 9 years. This year we not only volunteered at the auction but submitted an item worth 8hrs of carpentry labor. The item was purchased by a couple in Cedar Springs, MI. Their project has been completed and they couldn't be happier.

9/12/08: Community Repair Day 2008
Morris Builders, Inc. participated in the annual Community Repair Day with Home Repair Services. This year 5 members of our team braved the downpour and constructed a wheelchair ramp for a family in Cedar Springs on Friday, September 12th. We are honored to once again be a part of this wonderful opportunity.

5/08 Kirk becomes a Certified Green Professional
Kirk Morris has earned his CGP (Certified Green Professional) designation.
The National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Green Professional designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.

Kirk/Joy Attend National Think-tank
Kirk and I recently attended a meeting of Remodelers Advantage Roundtables, an industry think-tank for top remodelers. Fifteen remodeling executives from across the nation met in Nashua, NH to provide each other with input and advice on how we can continually improve the services and products each company offers.
We, as business owners, review financials, develop organizational charts, create future profit scenarios, and work to create systems that will add efficiency and predictability to our companies. In addition, Don Reddaway from GE Money, small business financial partner, participated in the program with the goal of gaining in-depth information about the remodeling industry.
We are thrilled to have this ongoing in-depth experience to draw from. Since we joined Remodelers Advantage Roundtables in 2001 this group of professional remodelers has become our informal board of directors and has made a dramatic difference in the way we run our company. They’ve helped us pinpoint areas for improvement – as well as giving us their input on the areas in which our company is particularly strong. With this feedback, we’ll be able to heighten the level of expertise and service that we offer, helping us deliver even more value to you – our customers.
Remodelers Advantage Roundtables has 160 member companies from around the country. The program, in existence since 1990, is specifically tailored for the owners of companies with annual sales of over $1,000,000. In addition to the company reviews, Roundtables incorporates state-of-the-art business resources to help each member reach a higher level of success within their business.
